Woodville Baptist Church

Deacons

Jane Mellor

Jane is a Deacon and the Church treasurer (which she has done for 17 years now!). She works part-time as a tax manager for a local firm of accountants and has three young children. Jane came to Cardiff to study accountancy at university and loved it so much she stayed. She still thinks of herself as a recent graduate even though that was now getting on for twenty years ago.

Andy Mellor

Andrew is a Deacon who assists the Church treasurer (who happens to also be his wife, which makes it convenient) looking after the church finances and deals with various other ad hoc matters, particularly in relation to the building. Andrew works for Care for the Family. He also has three young children.

Gary Twell

Gary is a Deacon with responsibility for the Youth and Child Protection. Gary runs the Woody Youth Club and oversees other youth activities such as Soul Survivor. Gary has been going to Woody for the last 10 years and has been involved in Youth Work for the past six years or so. He is married to Laura who jointly leads XCell (the older youth’s home group), with her brother. Gary’s day job is working for The AA as a Data Analyst and resides in St Mellons.

Stuart Hardisty

Stuart has been at Woody since 1996 and been serving as a Deacon since 1999. He has no formal areas of responsibility, but has been involved in administrating and overseeing a range of projects and activities including the Woody Weekends Away and some of our work with students. He is usually charged with keeping deacons meetings to some kind of agenda so that everyone gets home before sunrise. Stuart is married to Tania and has two young children. He is currently working for DTZ.

Judy Davies

Judy is our part-time administrator working in the office on Mondays and Thursdays. She has been involved at Woody since 1995 and has been a deacon and church secretary since September 2006. Judy and her husband Steve have two children, Andy and Joey. For general enquiries or Hall Hire you can contact Judy in the church office on Mondays or Thursdays from 10.30 am – 1 pm.
