What is Alpha?
The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It’s relaxed, low key, friendly and fun. It’s a place where people can come and ask questions, delve into issues and look for answers together.
When and Where?

Student Alpha has just begun! The course started on 13th February at Woodville Baptist Church, at 7:30pm.
13th Feb: Session 1: Who is Jesus?
20th Feb: Session 2: Why did Jesus die?
27th Feb: Session 3: How can I have faith?
5th March: Session 4: Why and how should I pray?
12th March: Session 5: Why and how should I read the Bible?
19th March: Session 6: What about evil and does God heal today?
26th March: What about the church and telling others?
28th April: Holy Spirit Day
What’s involved?
The Alpha course consists of a series of talks looking at topcs such as ‘Who is Jesus?’ and ‘Why and how do I pray?’ After each talk we divide into small groups for a time of discussion.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone, especially:
- Those wanting to investigate Christianity
- New Christians
- Newcomers to the church
- Those who want to brush up on the basics
What will it cost?
There is no charge for the Alpha course.
