At Woody we believe that worship is more than just a Sunday morning event; it incorporates our whole lives. However we really value our time together in corporate worship where we seek God passionately and come expectantly to see God move and speak to us.

The church meets for worship each Sunday at 10.30 a.m. where we spend time worshipping God through music, bible teaching and prayer. There are also the 2 evening services each month: Xodus which is on the 1st Sunday of every month,  and ExALT which is on the 4th Sunday. These both focus on prayer, worship and ministry time.

Woody is a relatively lively church with an average age of approximately 25-30. There is still a good mix of ages as well as families, singles, young people and students. We sing a variety of songs including Hillsong, Vineyard, Soul Survivor as well as some hymns and songs written by our own members. In all times of praise and worship we seek to be open to the Holy Spirit, so although we make plans, we try to be flexible and respond when God’s leading us in a different direction.

Sam&Jenna

Worship Co-ordinators

Jenna and I joined Woody in 2004 when we moved to Cardiff to start uni. We both led cellgroups and I was on the gap year team. We started getting involved in worship in 2007, got married in 2008 and then took on leading the worship in Woody in 2010. We now hold monthly Worship Training Sessions as our passion is to equip and develop gifts, raise up new worship leaders and encourage more freedom.

Worship Training Sessions:
These are a series of sessions that we hold on the 1st Tuesday of every month during term time. They are there to help equip all the musicians in the Church whether you are involved in a worship team or not. It’s a time where we seek to delve deeper into our gifts, and is a safe environment to push out into new ways of worship.

The vision of these sessions is to:
•    Build a greater Biblical understanding of worship
•    Encourage unity between the musicians
•    Develop the gifting of the musician
•    Create a culture of prophetic worship
•    Raise up new worship leaders

These sessions alternate between practical workshops and teaching and we try to get a variety of guest speakers in to inspire and encourage us. Every month we introduce the ‘Song of the Month’ which is then introduced to the whole church and we hear testimonies from different musicians to hear what God’s been doing in their lives.
